Easy Caramelized Pecan Sticky Buns
Warm, gooey cinnamon rolls pack an extra punch when you transform them into sticky buns.
Fortunately Saturday mornings are far less hectic for me so I usually make a late breakfast. These melt-in-your-mouth rolls were perfect comfort food for me when I was working on anatomy and physiology homework finishing up my yoga instructors certification.
Comfort food at its finest.
So what are we waiting for? Let's get started.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
1/3 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup pecans (chopped)
1 can (17.5 oz) Pillsbury Grands (refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing)
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350*
2. In a bowl mix together brown sugar and melted butter. Pour into a ungreased 9-inch square pan. Sprinkle chopped pecans onto the sugar/butter mixture.
3. Separate dough into rolls, and set icing aside.
4. Place rolls on top of sugar/butter mixture in pan.
5. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
6. Let cool 1 minute. Place heatproof serving plate upside down on top of the baking pan; carefully turn plate and pan over. Let pan remain 1 minute so caramel mixture can drizzle over rolls. Be sure and scrape the pan to remove the remaining caramel!
7. In small microwave bowl, microwave icing uncovered on High 8 to 10 seconds, or until thin enough to drizzle.
8. Drizzle over warm rolls, serve warm.
*You can add a pinch of extra cinnamon to the icing before microwaving for extra spice.
Easy-peasy recipe for breakfast, or dessert.
In warmth,
Anna
