Keep Your Seals Clean - Penicillin has already been discovered!

Did you know you can clean the seal around your refrigerator? It's true! I know...you probably have been lying awake at night over this. ;)

I'm just full of so much interesting information! :)

Toothpaste is good for alot of things besides just brushing your teeth. And since having worked in the field of dentistry, I highly recommend taking good care of your choppers. :)

If you don't at least check and clean the seal on your fridge regularly, you might be growing all kinds of weird science experiments.

This is so simple. It seems like I'm always saying that!

Use an old toothbrush. Not the one your currently using on your teeth!  (I have to say that)
I keep old toothbrushes around specifically for cleaning.

Secondly, you will only use paste. Don't use the gel kind!

Put a small amount on the brush, and scrub down in the crevasse of the seal. When your done, just take a damp cloth and wipe.

Now your seal should be clean and you can finally get some of the hours of sleep you've lost!

Lots of  Love,

Kitchen Tip - Save Time & Energy

Hi Sweethearts -

I sure wish you were nearby so I could share this with you!

This is a loaf of Lemon bread cake since I added melted butter. But that's another post for another day. :)
Why split hairs, right? It's all good!

Whenever I bake, I wash my dishes immediately. (I know that's a real shock)  ;)

I discovered a little trick that I use to dry my muffin pans, cake pans, bread pans...and allows me to put them away pretty darn quickly.

Here it is:

If you will turn the oven off when you're through baking, and having washed the pans, place them in the warm oven and they will dry almost right away! Why not use the warm oven to your advantage?  Simple huh?

I'm all for simplicity!

Love ~

Anna's Tortilla Soup

Anna's World Famous (OK, maybe not yet) Tortilla Soup -

This is the perfect day to share my very own recipe for Tortilla Soup.

It is cool and rainy here in the Texas Panhandle and we are so grateful for the much needed moisture! Perfect weather for my soup! I've looked at many, many recipes for tortilla soup and there are quite a number of variations.
I could never find one that had the color and consistency I wanted. So I threw in a can of this and a can of that and viola'... here it is.

Drum Roll please.........

Please? ;)

INGREDIENTS:

One (10 3/4 oz.) can of Nacho Cheese Soup*

One (10 3/4 oz.) can of Cream of Chicken Soup*

One (10 oz.) can of Rotel

2 oz. of chopped Green Chiles

A handful of chopped cilantro

Either a quarter to a half a block of smoked Gouda cheese , or a cup or two of grated cheddar cheese. (I just add as I go if needed) It always has depended what I had on hand! :)

I apologize for the lack of exact accuracy in that when I cook, I am a dash of this and a pinch of that kind of person. I tend to "eyeball" measurements and often don't need measuring cups and spoons.

DIRECTIONS:

Combine the nacho cheese soup and the cream of chicken soup in a pan on low-med. heat. Add one can of milk. (As per the directions on the label of nacho cheese soup). Stir consistently as you will not want the milk to sit and start scalding.

*You will NOT add the can of water that the cream of chicken calls for. Trust me on this one. ;)

Heat, stirring constantly until well blended. Continue heating on low for 30-45 minutes.

Add the green chiles and chopped cilantro. Stir, and keep stirring fairly often.

Lastly you will add either the smoked Gouda or grated cheese. Keep stirring until all is melted and blended.

Let sit on low heat for approx.15 more minutes until the flavors all blend.

Serve with crushed tortilla chips in the bowl.

Yum!

I hope you're having a great week. If you have a post on your blog about a particularly delicious recipe you love and would like to share, please link up!

Take care friends!

The Many Faces of Menopause...

The Many Faces of Menopause…

Mention the word menopause and you can just hear the groans. Not to mention the eye rolling. Being hormonal has certainly had its fair share of jokes over the years. But for those experiencing it, it’s not so funny. I’ve been experiencing hot flashes. Ugh. They happen instantaneously and are gone just as quickly as they came, leaving you chilled. No fun.

Along with the hot flashes, come anxiety, moodiness, and depression. Not something you look forward to going through. However I have a fabulous, understanding, compassionate husband which makes this transition so much more bearable.

Believe it or not, I used to be a very serious and negative person. You know the "glass is half empty” type. Over the years dealing with many serious situations (some life- threatening) in my life, I have found humor makes things so much easier to bear. The funny thing is (pardon the pun) I haven’t always had my sense of humor. It has developed through my trials. And I thank God that He has seen me through everything! He has given me grace to endure all those situations.

Laughter is a powerful tool. Humor can lighten any situation no matter how severe. Just trust me.

Try to look to the lighter side of things. Laugh A LOT. Love everyone. (Or at least try) :)

And besides, you'll always have a friend in me!

(((HUGS)))

Really Lazy Days...

Remember my previous post about our resident squirrel?

He takes daily afternoon naps in our tree. However today I guess he just ran out of steam. He’s sound asleep right at the base of the tree.

Can that really be comfortable?

We really should name him. Any ideas?

Sweet Dreams...
